"Summer of Love" Fashion Show at the Museum
The La Porte County Historical Society Museum is holding the third event of the “Summer of Love” on Saturday, July 7th, starting at 1 PM at the museum. This time the event is a Fashion Show featuring the Historical Society’s collection of clothing from the 1960’s and ‘70’s. Also featured will be fashions from the vintage clothing collection of Sandy Young, who will be modeling that day.
Some of the fashions shown will include hostess dresses, evening gowns, a Jackie Kennedy look-alike outfit, and a few surprises. The fashion show will take place on the lower level of the museum. The museum is located at 2405 Indiana Ave. at the south entrance to La Porte.
Come early and view the “Summer of Love” display that will be up until the end of August. Featured are more fashions and an exhibit of news events from the 1960’s. The Historical Society recently acquired all new mannequins and they are making their debut this summer.
The museum is accessible to those with disabilities. For more information, including admission prices, call 219-324-6767. Visit the website at www.laportecountyhistory.org, or email: info@laportecountyhistory.org.
