Job Description
Reporting to the Front Desk Manager, the Front Desk Agent will be responsible for providing guests with a positive first and last impression, and will provide consistent excellent customer service. A Front Desk Agent greets and registers incoming guests, assists guests with special needs, processes guest folios and collects payment, administers and manages cash handling responsibilities, handles guest requests and concerns promptly and with courtesy, assists guests with any inquiries regarding local entertainment, restaurants or transportation, maintains efficient and effective flow of information with guests and all internal departments, handles additional duties as needed by guests or management, maintains confidentiality and interacts effectively with hotel guests and co-workers to create a positive environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for providing quality guest services that include check-in and check-out and message service
• Review arrivals noting special requests, blocking rooms as needed
• Answer all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably, always ensuring complete and accurate information
• Follow established key control policy
• Knowledgeable of immediate area, services, attractions, and events
• Performs all other duties as directed by manager. Other Department related duties as become necessary
• Maintains a professional and high quality service oriented environment at all times
• Keep desk/office areas well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Check on following items regularly – coffee pots are full, bathrooms, pool, fitness and breakfast area. Keep areas cleaned and lobby floor mopped if necessary
• Request repair services as needed by completing the repair order sheet
• On your down time walk parking lot and pick up trash, shovel sidewalks if needed and keep salt down in the winter months
• Required to do laundry in down time
• Works closely with the Housekeeping Department to improve guest services and foster cross departmental communication
• After each shift, count your drawer prior to leaving, fill out the Cash Log, complete shift report, do a final bucket check and notify the next person of your shit’s summary
• Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life-safety procedures. Remain current in all updates with regards to new procedures and training.
• Complete all items on appropriate checklist by end of shift

• Previous experience in a Front Desk or customer facing role
• Works well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time
• Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage numerous priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Associates/Bachelor’s degree
• Work well independently and/or part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• A positive attitude
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.) and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long period of time and perform repetitive hand and arm movements
• Knowledge of computer and common programs
• Able to accommodate a flexible schedule that may include weekends and/or holidays
