First Annual Business & Community Engagement Event
LaPorte Community School Corporation will be hosting our first annual "Business and Community Engagement Event" on November 28 from 4-5pm in the Performing Arts Center.
We are excited to announce that Blair Milo, Secretary of Career Connections and Talent, and Ben Carter, Indiana Department of Education's Director of Workforce and Innovation, will be our guest speakers. Blair is deeply engaged in building a strong and dynamic 21st-century ready workforce in Indiana. Ben is leading the charge on Indiana's New Graduation Pathways.
After their remarks, La Porte Community School representatives will explain how our local business and community members can get involved in many different capacities to support Slicer students K-12 as they learn and demonstrate employability skills, fulfill the new Indiana Pathway's Graduation requirements, and prepare to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
As a local business and/or community stakeholder, your involvement in educating and preparing our students is essential. Plan to attend and learn about our current economic conditions, the new state requirements, and how you can support our students and take an active role in making La Porte community stronger.
If you have any questions or would like some more information on the event please contact Matt Presley at mpresley@lpcsc.k12.in.us. We look forward to seeing you on the 28th!
