"Summer of Love" Painting Party at La Porte County Historical Society Museum
“Summer of Love” at the Museum
The La Porte County Historical Society Museum will be celebrating the 1960’s in a big way this summer. From fun ‘60’s fashions to current events, the ‘60’s defined an era. Where were you 50 years ago in 1968? Were you still in high school? Did you serve in the Vietnam War? Come and relive those times at the museum from June through August.
To kick off the “Summer of Love”, art instructor Dori Huber, will be having a painting party here at the museum on Saturday, June 9th starting at 1 PM in the meeting room. For $35.00, which includes museum admission, you can paint a true symbol of the ‘60’s, the Peace Sign, specially designed by Dori. All supplies are included. Refreshments will be served. Please make reservations by calling 219-324-6767.
Dori Huber holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ohio State University and a Master of Education from Purdue University Northwest. She taught art in the South Central district for decades and continues to instruct students at PNW and the Lubeznik Center for the Arts. Many of her students have received state, national and international recognition. She will also be instructing at “Arts in the Park” at Fox Park this summer.
The museum is accessible to those with disabilities. For more information, call 219-324-6767. Visit the website at www.laportecountyhistory.org, or email: info@laportecountyhistory.org.
