Documentary about Menopause to Screen in Northwest Indiana
Northwest Health has collaborated with Lakeshore Public Media to present local women with two, free community screenings of “The [M] Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause,” a first-of-its-kind documentary that addresses the health issues surrounding menopause. City, Center Township to partner with Nest Community Shelter on warming center this winter
La PORTE, IN (Jan. 15, 2025) – Residents in need will soon have access to an emergency warming shelter right here in La Porte, according to Mayor Tom Dermody. Joining forces with Center Township Trustee Lisa Pierzakowski, the City has today announced a partnership with Nest Community Shelter to bring a temporary emergency shelter – dubbed Nest La Porte – to the former train depot on Washington Street. Set to open this Sunday, Jan. 19, the shelter will be open nightly from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. through March 31.
